The Ultimate Christmas Tree Reveal: Layering Your Decorations Like a Pro (In 4 Simple Steps!)

November's Secret: Your Permission Slip to Start the Christmas Season NOW!

Hello festive friends!

If you were with me last month, you know we had a crucial chat about getting a head start on our Christmas decorating plans in October. We talked themes, inventories, and the satisfying 'Great Purge' (I hope you ruthlessly donated those unused baubles!).

Well, guess what? It's officially November, and I'm declaring it the start of the Christmas feeling. Yes, really! The planning is done, and now it's time for the most exciting part: taking the first joyful steps of Christmas magic!

If you've been secretly humming carols while making dinner, or you keep peeking into that clearly labelled 'Tree Ornaments' box (thanks, October me!), this blog is your permission slip to stop waiting and start the festive fun.

Step 1: The Subtle, Scentsational Start ?
Before the big, dazzling tree goes up (we'll save that for later this month or early December, don't worry!), I love to ease into the season with the non-visual elements. They create an instant, powerful shift in your home's feeling—and a great place to start with a few seasonal buys!

Ignite the Aroma: Remember those beautiful scented candles or essential oil blends you picked up in October? Now is the time to light them! A rich mix of pine, cinnamon, or spiced orange will instantly trick your brain into feeling festive.

The Warm & Cozy Swap: Dig out your chunkiest throws, your softest velvet cushions, and perhaps swap out a simple rug for a faux-fur one. This is all about layering texture to make your space feel like a warm, inviting haven against the crisp November air.

Step 2: The Outside In (Starting with Greenery) ?
One of the easiest ways to start decorating without fully committing to the big reveal is by focusing on natural, transitional greenery.

Wreaths are Welcome Early: Wreaths and garlands are absolutely acceptable in November! A simple, elegant pine or eucalyptus wreath on the front door immediately signals that a cozy season is ahead. It's chic and seasonal, not just "Christmas"

Mantel Magic: The Foundation: If your mantel is your focal point, start laying the foundation. Drape your unlit pine Garland across it. Add some natural elements like pinecones, branches, or perhaps a lovely bowl of polished walnuts. It looks beautiful now, and it’s one less job when you add the lights and ornaments later!

Shop Suggestion: We just stocked our incredibly realistic Pre-Lit Garlands—ready to drape and easily styled with natural accents!  Garland

Step 3: Find Your First Sentimental Piece ❤️

Every year, I have one decoration that I must unpack first. It’s a small, personal ritual that instantly floods the home with nostalgia.
What's yours? Is it a favourite childhood ornament? A beloved figurine? A special new item you bought from the shop in October?

Place it with Intention: Give it a temporary, prominent home on a shelf, a side table, or as a centerpiece. It serves as a beautiful, early teaser for the magic yet to come. I always start with my elegant Santa Doll that I featured in last month's post—it goes right on the hall console!
Shop Suggestion: If you're looking for a special new piece to kick off your tradition, explore our Hand-Painted Figurines!  Look at our Santa Doll Figurines

Getting organized now means you can enjoy the process as much as the final result. You get to stretch out the festive feeling, one joyful step at a time!

Wishing you a wonderfully cozy November.
